Cancer Community Clubhouse

Provide specialized fitness classes for people affected by cancer. It is now well documented that exercise is medicine, particularly for people affected by cancer. In response, CCC started the CancerFit program that provides cancer patients and survivors access to two weekly fitness classes instructed by Cancer Exercise Specialist trainers. This program is currently CCCs only program with a small fee to participate. In 9 months of program service, CancerFit grew from two groups of up to 10 participants, to four groups of up to 10 participants. With such tremendous growth, CCC has served 39 individuals in CancerFit across 204 workout sessions, improving range of motion and muscle mass while reducing risk of recurrence.

Provide outreach, education, and wellness services to people affected by cancer. CCC participates in community outreach events to share our mission and find the people needing this additional support during and after a cancer experience. CCC offers a variety of educational workshops aimed at improving quality of life in survivorship. Topics vary from herbal support workshops, crochet, sex and intimacy educatio end-of-life considerations, and more. CCCs oncology wellness practices include monthly art classes, gentle yoga movement groups, a meditative sound bath, and the ancient practice of Qigong. Through our outreach, education, and wellness program, CCC served over 570 participants.
