Programs

Healthy lifestyle programs (yoga, tai chi, chi gong, strength training):cscla offers healthy lifestyle classes to combat stress and anxiety for those facing cancer or in support of a loved one. Pilates, yoga, t'ai chi and mindfulness are just a few of the offerings that help people manage pain and the side effects of treatment, help strengthen the body, and alleviate anxiety. Family members of those with cancer benefit, too, as these classes are open to all and help caregivers take care of themselves while taking care of their loved ones.

Expenses: $231K

Short-term counseling:short-term counseling offers individuals, couples, and families the opportunity to concentrate on cancer-related issues that require more privacy and in-depth discussion. Private counseling sessions can help individuals or couples increase a sense of control through problem-solving and empowerment, decrease feelings of isolation, engender hope, and create a better quality of life.

Expenses: $244K

Educational workshops:people with cancer and their families benefit from cscla's educational workshops in which experts in the fields of oncology, psychology, integrative medicine, nutrition, complementary medicine, as well as insurance, law, and finance share their expertise with cscla members. Becoming better informed about cancer empowers patients and their families to create the best quality of life possible.

Expenses: $75K

Social activities:a cancer diagnosis can create isolation for those with cancer and their families. Cscla offers many fun activities that remind people that life does not end with a diagnosis of cancer. Films, potlucks, family activity nights and parties are just a few of our social offerings in which a safe space is created in which adults, children and families impacted by cancer can celebrate life, while enhancing feelings of wellbeing.

Expenses: $26K

Children, teen & family program:cscla offers a clinical program designed for children, teen and families who are impacted by cancer. From improving family communication, coping with uncertainties, fears, and anxieties, and providing a social support network, our child, teen and family (ctf) program helps families cope with the emotional impact of cancer. Both children with cancer and those impacted by cancer in the family are welcome.
