Canopy Style & LoH -A fashion-focused initiative that works to shift man-made cellulosic fibres supply chains out of Ancient and Endangered Forests (AEF) to lower-impact alternatives, whilst scaling up solutions that will help to protect forests. LoH -Canopy works to protect Landscapes of Hope around the world. Canopy has contributed to the protection of over 11.4 million hectares of key forest landscapes, with 5.5 million hectares either newly protected or maintained under a moratorium on logging in the last two years. Keeping forest ecosystems intact all around the world from the Amazon, to the boreal, to the tropics, and coastal temperate rainforests is integral for our survival. When we protect forest ecosystems, we ensure that biodiversity is protected, carbon is stored, our climate is balanced, traditional and Indigenous communities are sustained, and humans have a better chance to thrive.
Next Gen Solutions: Canopy Works with brand partners to support Next Gen products/systems/designs and works with producers to adopt technologies to produce more Next Gen options. Next Gen Solutions are 1) products that are made with raw materials with a lower footprint than wood fibre and 2) smart logistics systems and product designs (such as re-usable shipping boxes and clothing rental services) that enable businesses to use far less raw resources. By using Next Gen alternatives, we don't destroy precious forest habitat and we do reduce carbon emissions and enable a circular economy.
