Pridefest: the flagship event for capital city pride is a three-day celebration and commemoration of the struggle for lgbt equality. Capital city pride provides festivities and entertainment for members of the lgbt community and their ally's. The three-day celebration culminates with a gathering and parade to commemorate the first pride parade held a year after the stonewall riots.
Speaker series: speaker series is a year-long discussion series hosted by various community partners that provides a platform for members of the lgbt community to share their stories with other members of the community. It is very common for lgbt members to live believing they are alone. Speaker series allows out members of the community to provide affirmation to those who might feel alone.
