Caring For Children Foundation Of Texas Inc

The Care Van's Health Literacy Initiative provides health, hygiene, nutrition and exercise education, as well as other health related services by collaborating with various health related organizations at community, regional or statewide events and having its own booth at related events. Over the course of the year the Foundation held 265 Health Literacy Events using the Foundation's Mobile Care Vans. During these events Care Van program provided education to 35,212 individuals.

In collaboration with state agencies, The Care Van Dental initiatives provides dental exams, fluoride treatments and sealants are provided to school-age children. Over the course of the year the Foundation held 526 Dental Exams. During these 526 exams Care Van program served 25,449 children.

The Care Van nurses supports schools by facilitating hearing and vision screenings to underprivileged children. Over the course of the year the Foundation held 2 Hearing and Vision Screening Events. During these 2 events Care Van program served 70 children.

The Care Van travels to communities to screen for Chronic Kidney disease. The National Kidney Foundation secures medical staff and volunteers who administered screenings. Over the course of the year the Foundation held 53 Chronic Kidney disease screenings. During these events Care Van program served 1,793 adults in 25 counties.
