Carolina children's charity has provided assistance to cover the costs of therapy, special equipment, medications, medically necessary evaluation and testing, and much more to charleston, berkeley, dorchester, and colleton counties families.

Grants were approved in four categories: therapy, equipment, medical care and lodging. The therapy category had the largest amount of grant requests. This has been the trend for at least the last seven years. This is not at all surprising since coverage for therapy is more limited once a child turns 3 years old. Grants in this category include occupational therapy (ot), physical therapy (pt), speech therapy (st), music therapy, applied behavioral analysis (aba) therapy, vision therapy, therapeutic horseback riding, leap (lowcountry equine assisted psychotherapy).
