Mission
Cat Action Team's mission is to improve the quality of life for cats in central Virginia through a trap/neuter/vaccinate/return program, a foster/adopt program, and a pet retention/colony maintenance program.

Foster/Adopt Program: In 2024, Cat Action Team took in and fostered 49 kittens and cats with the help of 19 foster homes. In addition, 6 cats & kittens were in foster care from 2023. All kittens and cats in the foster-to-adopt program receive veterinary care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. The number of cats and kittens in the foster-to-adopt information is reported to the Virginia Department of Agriculture annually.
Pet retention/colony maintenance program: In 2024, we continued our monthly food drives at local pet-food stores plus individual donations of food which was distributed to people feeding colony cats. We collected $5,456.87 worth of food. In addition, Cat Action Team spent approximately $26,200 buying/distributing food. Medical costs amounted to approximately $24,500. We assisted approximately 30 households and over 150 cats.
