Mission

The catalina search and rescue team is a volunteer group that is part of the' los angeles county sheriff's department avalon station. The team is a high1y ski11ed well trained group that conducts land, sea and air rescues at no cost to the public. The purpose of the team is to find lost or overdue people, remove people who have become stranded on steep mountain terrain or cliffs, to provide first aid and or paramedic care to the injured of any type accident including: auto, scuba dive, airplane crash, fall victims and general cam p i ng accidents plus any other rescue type problems that occur.
