Emergency services and housing: a home is more than simply a shelter it's a foundation that allows you to focus on the future. If you don't have a permanent place to call home, it's difficult if not impossible to focus on any other aspect of your life. At catholic charities, we believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. If you're about to be evicted or are already facing homelessness, our housing services include rental assistance, transitional housing placement and permanent housing solutions. We work with landlords and community partners in coconino, mohave and yavapai counties, among others, to find housing solutions for anyone (families, veterans, older adults or young adults) in need of a place to live. Our dedicated, professional case managers work one-on-one to help you stabilize housing first, then set a plan to achieve long-term success.
Refugee & immigration services: persons who are legally in our country still need immigration help. Catholic charities has a robust immigration program that helps reunite them with minor children and spouses who remain in their country of origin. Our legal services include applications for: citizenship, work authorization, and petitions for battered spouses and children. We try to find the relatives of children cut off from their families so they can be reunited with their families; we enroll them in school and we find loving foster homes where they can begin a new life in their new country. As they become older, we prepare them to leave foster care, live independently and manage their own apartments and bank accounts and pay bills. Many of our refugee clients come from iraq where their assistance provided to our military put their lives in danger and from countries where ethnic discrimination has deprived them of their homes and livelihoods. Catholic charities gives immigrants and refugees authorized by the u.s. Government the help they are entitled to and need.
Foster, group & residential care: it's all about the children - abused, neglected, abandoned, emotionally challenged. We have been providing foster care services to children for more than 85 years. We believe that every child should grow up in a safe, loving and nurturing environment. Catholic charities helps find loving homes by facilitating adoption of children currently in foster care, assisting families with licensing and training, special homes for children with medical needs and children separated from their parents and families. Some children need a home for one day, others one week, and still others may need care for a year or more. No matter how long or short they live in a foster home, they will stay in their foster parents' hearts forever.
Veterans' social services : focus on helping veterans & their families find safe, permanent housing.
Pregnancy & adoption services: aid women/couples with birth options for their unplanned pregnancies.
Counseling and behavioral services: help those who suffer from both mental illness and homelessness.
