Programs

Family and Children's Services: The goal of Catholic Community Services' Family and Children's Services is to help build strong and healthy families in which children are protected, happy and thriving. CCS helps meet immediate/fundamental needs, helps those in transition to become stable; and supports families as they achieve strong, secure, and independent lives. These programs are provided in a variety of locations with varied goals. Pio Decimo Center provided 9,766 individuals with food, clothing, and household items. 29 families were helped with transitional housing and 652 clients benefitted from housing counseling. 177 families were kept in their homes through rental assistance. Grant funds in excess of $298,000 were used to help families avoid homelessness. CCS programs for children/families included: child abuse prevention; 1377 supervised visits between parents and children, 403 parents supported in addiction treatment to achieve permanency with their children; 131 children in foster family care; supervised visitation; low-cost day care and after school programs. The volunteers and staff in the tax services program prepared over 15,922 tax returns for low-income families, resulting in over $14.5 million in tax refunds.

Expenses: $7.2M

Casa Alitas: CCS worked with 289,877 legally processed asylum seekers. Additionally, help was provided to 1,013 individuals seeking immigration consultation services, citizenship applications or settlement services.

Expenses: $6.9M

Nutrition: 247,460 meals for elderly and disabled individuals were provided through Catholic Community Services' home-delivered meal program and congregate nutrition centers throughout Southern and Western Arizona. In addition to the balanced and nutritious meals, the home-delivered meal program brings a friendly visitor to check on everyone's wellbeing.

Expenses: $3.4M

Aging: Congregate centers provide social interaction and exercise for seniors. Older adults received 22,925 hours of care in our Adult Day Health Center. CCS also assists 136 low- and middle-income seniors with safe and affordable housing at Barrio Viejo Elderly Housing and Casitas on East Broadway. Thirty-five seniors received Adult day health services.

Expenses: $602K

Medical Services: CCS opened a Medical Respite facility in May 2024 to serve people with housing insufficiency who are recuperating from surgery. The Medical Respite center has the capacity to house 48 guests while they recuperate.

Expenses: $441K

Other Programs: CCS provided therapeutic services for a total of 3,301 hours. Domestic Violence prevention and intervention services assisted 474 individuals for a total of 15,232 shelter nights. Community-based services for this same group were provided with 2,516 hours of advocacy.CCS oversees two ministries, one to nursing homes and the other to prisons and detention centers. The St. Jeanne Jugan Ministry for Elders focused on a remote program to provide end of life planning as both a direct service and as a training model to expand this program to staff of parishes.
