Musical instruction and seminars at the organization's annual winter school that brings together the world's finest bagpipers, scottish drummers and fiddlers with other musicians from throughout the united states and canada. This event is coupled with the master of scottish arts performance that is open to the general public featuring the instructors from the winter school programs and the finest highland dancers at edmons center for the arts in edmonds, washington.
The bagpipes for beginners series is an eight-week class offered quarterly for students wanting to learn how to play the bagpipes, a traditional scottish instrument. There are seven levels of classes offered to provide support for true beginners to more advanced and experienced players. Classes are held at the littlefield celtic center. In 2024, there were 59 students who participated in the series. The classes are a direct fulfillment of caf's mission of sponsoring and promoting celtic culture through events and educational activities.
Other program services include various celtic musical performances, st. Patrick day activities, the bellingham celtic festival, whiskey tasting and other on-site celtic events.
