Communications: the communications program focuses on shaping the regional narrative around environmental, economic, and democratic issues in their communities. Ccj works with residents to help them share their experiences, and they engage various media to help educate the public on current events.

Advocacy: the advocacy program engages policy-based and legal tactics to promote systemic change and to increase residents' access to information and decision-making conversations. Ccj holds polluters and government accountable to existing statutes and regulations.

Improve policy and regulations for the oversight of fossil fuel extraction and use; to educate, empower, and organize coalfield citizens and to protect public and environmental health.
