Social Services: Our Social Service Department is the starting point for accessing any of our services. The department recruits, screens clients for eligibility and aids in the forms of English as Second Language (ESL) classes, computer literacy classes, Financial Literacy classes, monthly food and transportation assistance in the form of vouchers and, work-readiness coaching amongst other interventions. We also obtained donations of clothing, shoes, socks, food, interpretation and translation support for our clients and members of their familiy in their resettlement needs. We also conduct community needs assessments and community engagement activities that support and help to meet the resettlement and integration needs of refugees and immigrants we served.

Healthcare: Health insurance in the United States is costly, and our program partners often lack sufficient coverage for their healthcare needs. We collaborate with healthcare institutions in Colorado, such as hospitals, clinics, The Colorado Health Foundation, Delta Dental Colorado, Uptown Community Health Center, the Denver Health, and other foundations and healthcare institutions to ensure our clients receive timely care. This program has helped many ORR-elitigle refugees, immigrants, and asylees obtain necessary medical services. Similarly, dental care is costly and not accessible to many clients. We received grants from the Delta Dental Foundation of Colorado, which enabled us to provide vouchers worth at least $600 per person. These vouchers were used at our partner dental clinics to address some dental issues.

Behavioral health: Many refugees, asylees, and immigrants endure severe hardships during their journey to resettle in the United States. The trauma they experience often results in varying degrees of psychological distress. It is essential for their well-being and the welfare of the society into which they are resettled to address and alleviate these behavioral health conditions. Center for Immigrants and Immigration Services received grants enabling behavioral health specialists to assist clients in overcoming emotional and psychological difficulties. These services include stress management, PTSD counseling, psycho-social group therapy, and anger management. For instance, our agency has supported newly arrived Afghan evacuees resettled by the US Government in Colorado. Additionally, we have organized psycho-social groups for children and youth to facilitate their healing process.
