A national model for student-led civic and civil! discourse, Speak Truth brings students together from all over the DC region from public, public charter, and private schools to engage in a dialogue that exposes them to a diverse array of perspectives. Through student-facilitated conversations, participants learn to productively and respectfully discuss current, controversial topics. The only credit-bearing course available to all public and public charter school students in Washington, DC, Real World History teaches history through inquiry, equipping students with crucial skills that prepare them to thrive in our complex 21st century world; the program includes hands-on internships in DC, designed to serve as a citywide model for competency-based education.
