The concept of the organization's treatment plan is centered on the early intervention/early return to work concept. Through early intervention and a variety of treatment and rehabilitative modalities, patients are assured better treatment outcomes, the most expeditious return to work, thus saving the employers tremendous expense in lost productivity, overtime, training costs, etc.

Relationship of activities to the accomplishment of the exempt purpose: center for occupational health, inc. These services are delivered with an emphasis on cost containment through early intervention and expert case management. The center for occupational health, inc. Clinic is equipped to conduct basic injury care, physical examinations, and the following ancillary services: x-ray, collection of specimens for laboratory analysis, pulmonary function testing, audiometry, electrocardiogram (ekg), radiology, and vision screening. Certain services are contracted in the treatment components. Hand surgery, neurology, physiatry, orthopedics, and ophthalmology are all contracted with individual physicians and or specialty groups who provide their services to patients of the center for occupational health, inc.'s at the specialists' office. Center for occupational staff work closely with the specialist to assure streamlined communication with the physician and the employer and insurance carrier, thereby providing coordinated care for the patient producing better clinical outcomes. Center for occupational health, inc. Is committed to cost containment for its employer clients and/or their insurance carriers. Since the organization specializes in occupational health, approximately ninety-nine percent (99%) of the fees for all cases are paid either through the employers' workers' compensation insurance or directly by the employers. Due to the unique field in the medical continuum, occupational health providers charge the fees for care to the employers' workers' compensation insurance or the employers. The employees are not directly responsible for payment for their care. Thus, the need to provide charity care by the organization itself is virtually nonexistent. The organization will refer patients, when medically indicated, to union hospital where charity care is provided, should it be necessary. Center for occupational health, inc. Provides consultations at no charge to the local industry on safety and ergonomics with the aim of providing a safer work environment. Also, the center for occupational health, inc. Provides numerous educational programs for the community including: injury prevention, department of transportation drug testing/physical compliance, osha regulations, ergonomic and safety. All educational programs are available to interested parties in the community.
