Outreach/Events - TechWorks! co-hosts the annual Binghamton Bridge Pedal with Southern Tier Bicycle Club, Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study (BMTS) and Broome County Planning Department. Provide parking for artists performing at BC Forum Theatre. Routine events at TechWorks! include group visits by schools, retiree groups, and professional societies; Python and Unity software classes for teens and adults; as well as lectures for Binghamton University (BU) Computer Science and History of Technology classes. New features at VICC include music played by IBM 1403 printer, new code enabling 1960s IBM System 360 printer to produce pre-digital selfies of visitors, and Pixel Place, with classic consoles for playing vintage video games. In the 10th year of BU-Watson Capstone collaboration, teams embarked on Phase I of Robotic arm/hand for Nintendo Power Glove and IBM 1441 - 1447 Interface projects. Quantities of gift copies of The Great Apollo Train Wreck (2024), Frank Hughes and Spinoff- A Personal History of the Industry that Changed the World (2001) Charles Spork were distributed to teachers and students.
