Mission
The Center for Wooden Boats promotes Northwest Maritime Heritage through education, interpretation and hands-on experience in building, maintaining and using historic small craft.
Programs
3 programs
SLU Livery, providing hands on experience in historic craft and wooden boat culture, including boat rentals and assistance to all sailing programs. Over 2500 people rented boats at SLU 2024.
Youth Sailing and Boatbuilding including Sailing Lessons, Summer Camps and Woodworking Camps, Scholarships in the amount of $ 22,800 were awarded to undeserved youth. Over 1,265 youth attended Field Trips, Sailing Lessons, Workshops and Camps during 2024.
Adult & Family Sailing including Sailing Lessons, Free Sunday Rowboat Rentals, Summer Free Public Sails. Over 3,800 people participated in one of our free sailing programs in 2024.
