Central California Asthma Collaborative

Environmental project is dedicated to expanding electric vehicle (ev) access for low-income families by streamlining pathways to state and federal credits and incentives. We assist families in navigating the application process, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements and fully leverage available benefits. In addition, we organize community engagement events where participants can explore ev options, experience test drives, and gain insights into sustainable transportation. Most recently, we facilitated a successful event at a local city college, creating an informative and hadns-on opportunity for attendees to learn about the financial and environmental benefits of ev ownership.

The asthma program, fully supported by grant funding, is dedicated to improving asthma care and management in the central valley. Through close collaboration with local communities, the program assess asthma severity and provides tailored guidance to access essential asthma remediation tools. In partnership with medicare health plans, individuals receive comprehensive support to better manage their asthma and enhance overall health outcomes.

Health research program is dedicated to understanding the environmental and physiological factors influencing asthma, with a particular focus on under- served, low-income communities. To support this work, we conduct thorough sample collection, indluding hair, blood, and teeth samples, as well as physical measurements such as height and weight from individuals diagnosed with asthma. Additionally, the program explores the health impacts of household energy sources by offering eligible participants the replacement of gas appliances, including stoves and range hoods, with electric alternatives. This initiative aims to reduce indoor air pollution and enhance respiratory health, providing valuable insights into the benefits of cleaner household energy sources.
