CF Banding Project:Provide funding to continue preseason banding in ND, SD, WY, and MT to obtain a better representation for banding reference areas in the U.S. portion of the Central Flyway. The objective is to obtain reliable rate estimates for mallards. The CF funding will support a mobile banding crew in cooperation with banding on National Wildlife Refuges and with Ducks Unlimited and other partners.

Artic Goose Banding Project: This project provides a representative marking of light and dark geese. It is important to ensure that marking efforts accurately reflect the Mid-Continent Population as a whole. Rosss geese will continue to be marked primarily at Queen Naud Gulf, but increasing numbers are also being marked in the eastern arctic as the population appears to be exdpanding eastward.
