Rural Lands: As the local watchdog for Oregons renowned land use planning system, we uphold the laws that make our region unique. Reviewed 1,400+ rural land use and development applications. Tracked 59 local processes in depth.Testified in 20 land use hearings.Filed 4 county-level appeals and 14 state-level appeals. Argued 4 cases at the Oregon Court of Appeals. Participated in 3 rulemaking processes before the Land Conservation & Development Commission.
Wild Lands & Waters: Protecting the ecological integrity of our wild places is critical amid a climate crisis and large-scale biodiversity loss. Our efforts all aim to keep landscapes connected and intact. Identified 11 locations for wildlife crossing structures between Bend and Suttle Lake. Submitted 6 comments on projects covering more than 200 miles of trail and nearly 2.5 million acres of Central Oregon wild lands. Engaged in 1 national campaign to improve forest management. Submitted 2 formal objections to the Forest Service.
