Recertification examination: is an open book web-based exam available only to re-certifiers. It is designed for the candidate to complete at his or her own pace within the calendar year that the candidate is due for recertification. Recertifying candidates may recertify either by passing a web-based recertification examination or through continuing education, hereby referred to as infection prevention units (ipus).
