Programs

1 program

Policy, research and programsduring fiscal year 2023-24, the cglr foundation continued developing the circular great lakes initiative. The initiative brings companies together with government, academic, and nonprofit leaders to forge a future without material waste and pollution, starting with plastic, by closing the loop and creating circular cities, sectors and supply chains. The focus of this work in the 2023-24 timeframe was on implementing the strategy and action plan for a circular economy for consumer plastics in the great lakes released at the june 2023 great lakes economic forum. Key elements of the action plan will consider policy changes required to enable a circular economy, infrastructure modernization and technology advancements, product design recommendations, consumer engagement and education, and plastic cleanup through the great lakes plastic clean-up, a joint initiative between the cglr foundation and cglr canada, a related party, as well as pollution probe in toronto, canada.
