Programs
2 programs
There were 212 children in our head start program and 189 children in our early head start program. There were 2,269 home visits. Eighty-four percent (84%) of our 4-year-old preschoolers were meeting or exceeding widely held expectations tied to kindergarten readiness in the domains of social emotional development, literacy, and math.
Over this past year cvoeo has continued to expand its food programs throughout the champlain valley and feeding chittenden formally became feeding champlain valley on february 14th, 2024. In august of this year, feeding champlain valley integrated the health roots collaborative as one of its programs providing cvoeo with the opportunity to connect local farmers to the charitable food system. We now work with over 38 farms where we glean, purchase food for our food shelves and provide sales and marketing support. We also provide education on sustainable farming through workshops at schools and community centers. Feeding champlain valley continues with its food as medicine program, mobile outreach, solidifying its three food hubs it established in 2023 and providing consumer choice through its online food ordering application and its interpretation and translation service.
