Charlotte Legal Initiative To Mobilize Businesses Inc

CLIMB runs several legal clinics each year, which are staffed by volunteer attorneys and legal professionals, often in partnership with one large firm and one large corporate legal department. During these clinics, small business owners and entrepreneurs submit questions and issues in advance of the clinic, and then sit down with a team of attorneys for a one hour legal consult, wherein attorneys answer questions and help issue-spot.

CLIMB offers free legal education seminars, wherein volunteer attorneys present extensive overviews on different areas of law to groups of small business owners and entrepreneurs. For example, CLIMB has recruited attorneys and prepared presentation topics such as contracts, intellectual property, corporate entity formation, and many more. Legal work in all of these program areas is conducted by CLIMBs large network of volunteer attorneys, who donate their time and expertise entirely pro bono. By leveraging volunteers, CLIMB provides nearly four times its annual operating budget in donated legal services.
