The emotional stress on members of the fire service and their families is an issue combatted by every fire department in the U.S. To help with this issue, the Foundation supports the Charlotte Fire Department Ball which allows members of the fire department and their significant others an evening out to over 600 individuals. This past year, the Charlotte Fire Department responded to a traumatic event in which 4 law enforcement officers lost their lives. The Foundation provided a night out to over 30 CFD responders and their significant others to a minor league baseball game. An intense week long PTSD program operated by a psychiatrist out of Florida was provided to 5 Charlotte Fire members during 2024.
The origin of the Foundation was to help members of the fire department and their families by providing monetary assistance with medical bills or other unforeseen hardships. In continuing with this mission, the Foundation aided 5 families that struggled during 2024, including one family that was adopted by the Foundation to provide Christmas to their children.
