To educate and empower low-income residents to protect and improve our own communities through collective action.
Programs
3 programs
The phar internship program selects residents of public housing to learn about policy, build skills, engage in community organizing and develop leadership skills to support community improvements. Interns receive training funds for up to 10 hours of work per week in the 6 month program. Graduates of the program receive certificates of completion at a commencement ceremony. The program has been running since 1999 and has graduated over 84 residents to date.
Residents for respectful research; to assure that public housing residents understand, have input to, and benefit from research conducted on/with public housing residents.
