CHATFIELD BRASS BAND--The Chatfield Brass Band is a community band based in Chatfield, MN, with a rich history and strong commitment to free community access to the arts, whether it be as a member or as the audience. With a 50 plus year history, the band remains strong and active while maintaining a visible presence in the arts communities of SE Minnesota. The band has 41 members that come from a 40 mile radius to rehearse and perform. Rehearsals are weekly during the school year. The band sponsors and administrates an 8 week "Music in the Park" free summer concert series, with the Chatfield Brass Band and guest groups. The concerts foster greater knowledge and appreciation of the wide variety of wind music and bring enjoyment to both audience and performers. Other performances include regional parades in their circus-style bandwagon, a community Christmas concert, outreach concerts at senior living centers, and performances at area communities by request. The band is part of the fabric of the community and contributes to the quality of life in our rural area. This fiscal year the 41 member band held 33 rehearsals, performed 10 concerts, and appeared in 1 parade. 4 guest groups were featured in the summer concert series. Excluding parade appearance, audience total of 1,685
