To lead the effort to build and sustain community practices to eliminate homelessness.

In 2019, the authority completed construction of the first phase of the tiny house project. Phase one consists of 23 housing units, a clinic, and a clubhouse. All tenants are veterans of the united states armed forces who were previously homeless. Tenants pay rents of 240 per month if single, and 350 per month if married. Residents have access to support staff and case managers, employment search assistance, skill-building workships with an emphasis on building self-sufficiency. In 2020, the authority began construction on phase two of the tiny house community, which will included an additional 24 housing units and a clubhouse. These will also be for previously homeless veterans of the united states armed forces. Phase two came on-line in 2023.

The homeless outreach team - a van was purchased with city of savannah grant funds. Caseworkers use this van to go out in the field to homeless encampments and provide various services to the homeless population.

Expenses: $166K

Chatham county blueprint grant program - provides services to reduce homelessness, coordinating the efforts of multiple agencies working to end homelessness in the region, including an outreach team that works directly with community members who need increased services due to mental health diagnosis; also includes sufficiency planning and resource referrals for education, employment, food, shelter, and healthcare.
