Blueprint for success (bfs) is an innovative and successful workforce development program operated by cef that seeks to transform the lives of out-of-school youth ages 18-24 who live in the city of chester and/or delaware county, pennsylvania. Providing out-of-school youth with a structured and supportive environment, the overall goal of this program is to provide program participants with intensive, culturally relevant services that assist them in discovering and pursuing career pathways, education, and training in in-demand fields that will significantly improve their socio-economic trajectory. The success of the blueprint for success program relies on strategic partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and employers committed to helping youth succeed.
Newly funded by the pennsylvania commission on crime and delinquency, the violence intervention and prevention program consists of two grants/components: the vip grant and the ccvi grant. Funded by the vip grant, the botvin lifeskills transitions (lst), is an evidence-based program proven to reduce substance abuse and gun and other violence and to increase conflict resolution and communication skills. Lst is in the planning phase and will be launched in july 2023. The second vip component (ccvi) funds a coalition of nonprofit organizations including chester education foundation that provide prevention and intervention services. Cef contributes workforce development, academic and enrichment services for 16-24-year-old youth.
Other cef programs: a) delaware county communities that care network b) delcoresources directory c) jetter center for college and career services d) afterschool academic and enrichment program
