Mission

Our mission is to examine vital civic and social issues through a prism of faith and create and distribute programs to inspire action in the chicago community and beyond. On october 31, 1933, the organization received a determination of exempt status from the internal revenue service. Based on a request by the organization, the internal revenue service confirmed in a letter dated may 14, 1942 that the organization was not required to file annual returns. This position was reconfirmed in a ruling dated october 20, 1970. During the period ended august 31, 2007, the organization determined that it no longer operated as a "church," but continues to operate exclusively for religious and charitable purposes under the internal revenue code.
