The purpose of the Chief Joseph Foundation is to foster the personal growth and individual achievements of at-risk youth using a wide range of equestrian activities.

The Nez Perce Mounted Scholars Program - CJF has an ongoing program working with students to teach more advanced riding techniques than the weekly riding program covers.

The National Chief Joseph Trail Ride - CJF takes advanced students on the National Chief Joseph trail ride that covers 100 miles of riding. CJF pays for and coordinates up to 6 youth every year.
