Childcare resource and referral programs: through its parent and employer referred program childcare resource network (ccrn) helps erie county families find quality, affordable, accessible childcare that meets their unique needs. Standard online and telephoner referral assistance (free of charge) includes a list of providers who meet family specified criteria. Ccrn also trains credentials and offers quality improvement service for childcare providers of all types and sizes (nearly 2000 individuals trained annually). Childcare registration program: working to ensure the health, safety, and positive development of children, the childcare resource network registration department contracts with the nys office of children and family services (ocfs) to monitor and regulate family childcare and school age childcare programs in eric county erie county. Research includes processing new and renewable applications inspecting programs for compliance with nycocfs healthcare regulations overseeing corrective action plans and providing technical assistance to over 200 potential and existing family and school age childcare providers each year. Also, conduct complaint investigations on registered providers and all complaints and illegal providers, conduct safety assessment based on arrests and convictions of staff, process fingerprint waivers and state central register checks, process justice center register checks and conduct enforcement actions and approach for serious and repeat violations.

Education and training: training is fundamental to providing quality care for children. The education department of the child care resource network offers a wide range of classes, seminars, and conferences on topics relevant to childcare and early education attendance and participation in these education programs count towards the hours required to maintain providers certifications\licensure. Throughout training, personnel who work with children and families can continue to increase their skills, knowledge, and understanding of children and families.
