Children's musical theatre exists to enrich the lives of youth by providing quality musical theatre performances and educational opportunities. Our vision is to be recognized as a premier teaching and performing arts organization for youth, thier families, and our community. Our core values include inspiring: creativity, confidence, community, character, and compassion.

Programs

Summer camps: cmt held two summer camps this year. The first camp was beautyand the beast jr which provided a three week experience to students ages 7-16. Thesecond camp was winnie the pooh kids which provided a two week experience tostudents ages 6-14. A total of 75 students participated onsite from 9am to 3pm eachweekday. At the end of the camp there are four performances of each show in ourblackbox theatre for family and friends. The camp staff includes a director, musicdirector, and choreographer who all have extensive experience in their disciplines.summer camps give students skills in performing, communication, self-confidence,production process, organization and teamwork.

Stage school: the goal of cmt's stage school is to offer training classes in eachdiscipline of musical theatre- acting, music and dance, so that students increasecompetency in each area. Classes are designed to provide instruction specific to eachstudent's skill level and encourage learning objectives to be achieved during each 12-16week session. Each member of our stage school staff is experienced in their disciplineand is trained to recognize students' abilities and challenge them to reach the next levelof their craft. Stage school provides students with the opportunity to hone theirperformance skills and grow in teamwork, creativity, problem solving and selfconfidence.

Spotlite: special program on theatre: lessons in theatre education:spotlite is a tuition-free, in-classroom theatre enrichment program that reachesevery 4th grade student from local public and private schools and homeschool groups inbartlesville during october and november each year. This program introduces studentsto improvisation, nonverbal communication, and the structure of stories. In the finalweek, the 4th grade students tour the center in bartlesville where they enjoy hands-onlessons in elements of stagecraft, like lighting and makeup, before enjoying a live,interactive performance from missoula children's theatre. Spotlite showcases themany different skills necessary to bring a show to life.

Missoula children's theatre residency: based out of missoula, montana, themissoula children's theatre (mct) residency program is an international touringcompany that brings a new, original musical to bartlesville every fall. After auditioningnearly 200 k-8 students from local communities, the mct team typically casts 50-60students on the monday of production week and rehearses with them during the weekso that they can present a full musical play to the public on friday. Each mct show isan adaptation of a classic children's fairy tale. Our partnership with mct in anothertuition-free program cmt offers to the community.

Expenses: $4K

School year productions: in 2024 aladdin jr was produced as the school yearproduction. This production was a 60 minutes junior level musical that was cast with 26students ages 7-16. The program process includes 2-3 months of rehearsals andculminates with three public performances in our black box theatre. The productionprocess teaches the basics of dance, acting and vocal music. The director, musicdirector and choreographer and experienced in their fields and with the organization.
