Other Program Services: The Annual picnic was held at the Elm Avenue Park, with over 400 members and non-members came to the event. We particpated in the annual Festival of Nation event. We held our annual Health Fair at Union College with over 250 attendees. This program was fully sponsored by the Dept. of Health Office. We held several seminar, art exhibition and other cultural events to promote awareness and support system in youth mental health. During the weekends, we have social activities for the seniors, PingPong games and chorus in the CCC building.
Luna New Year Gala The 2025 Lunar New Year Gala was held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Egg Center of the Performing Arts in Albany, NY. The Gala show featured 18 performances, including traditional dances, music, Peking Opera and Kungfu. The event drew over 900 attendees including congress members, state senators, assembly members, state agency leaders and other community leaders. Reporters from the press and TV stations were present to document the event. .
CAEP Program:During the weekends, we offer cultural and academic enrichment classes to members and non-members. Presently, we have Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, English lessons, Maths, Guqin (7-stringed Zither) and tea ceremony classes. During summer, we will 1-week Math bootcamp for students age 5 to 17.
Peking Opera:There are 30 students aged 5 to 65 in the Peking Opera academy. For the third consecutive year, the Peking Opera was sponsored by the Art Center of the Capital Region, receiving $4,000 grant. The academy has been featured on TV and The Times Union. The students performed in various public venues.
