The professional development and spiritual wellness (pdsw) department emphasizes the priority of programs that promote (1) workforce and career education and growth, and (2) holistic wellness of cvm supporters (those engaged in prayer, giving, and service) and cvm staff (both cvm usa and international field workers). A significant accomplishment in fy24 was the hosting of our third cvm veterinary conference in november 2023 with 891 participants, which was a substantial increase over the previous year. The annual conference aims to provide quality veterinary continuing education approved by the registry of approved continuing education (race) and offer trusted ministry speakers to challenge, empower, and facilitate veterinary professionals in their faith journey. A second major fy24 achievement was the growth of the cvm weekly podcast, two roads crossing. This podcast explores the intersection of faith and veterinary medicine by sharing interviews with engaging speakers in various roles, career paths, and ministries. The podcast launched in april 2023 and is hosted through the cvm app as well as many popular podcast host sites. At the end of this fiscal year, the podcast had grown to 813 subscribers and 209 average plays per month.a third major fy24 achievement was the continued development of the cvm wellbeing initiative. A cvm wellbeing website was created www.cvm.org/wellbeing. A wellbeing table introduced attendees to the initiatives at the 2023 cvm veterinary conference connections night. Wellbeing devotions were delivered as a common theme at the staff planning workshop in november 2023, a wellbeing workshop was hosted at the western veterinary conference in february 2024, and a series of 2 roads crossing podcast episodes focused on the 5 wellbeing domains. A wellbeing champions small cohort of 10 launched in march and concluded with a wellbeing retreat concurrently with the cvm short course in may 2024.
