The GSEC 2024 program enrolled 93 students into the 10-month mentorship program that provides them mentorship, professional development, and community to support them in the first-year of graduate school. In 2024, we have awarded 34 first-year graduate students with $42,500 in scholarships to cover educational expenses in their first year of graduate school. In 2024, we have provided three professional development webinars on navigating the first-year of graduate school, choosing research laboratories, applying to fellowships, and developing time management skills. In 2025, there were four professional development webinars in the second half of the program. In the first half of the program in 2024, there were three virtual community socials on building community with scientists and creating a space to discuss challenges in the first-year of graduate school. In the second half of the program in 2025, there were three virtual community socials.

In the first half of the 2024 Consulting Preparation Program, we have informed 84 scientists on preparing for careers in consulting through two professional development webinars. In the second half of the program starting in 2025, we have enrolled 10 students to receive individualized mentorship and professional development as they prepare to apply for consulting jobs.
