Hippotherapy:hippotherapy derives from the greek word for horse, "hippos." the horse becomes the therapy table for riders with more extensive disabilities. Individualized appointments are led by specially trained and certified occupational therapists and physical therapists to achieve specific, functional outcomes in the riders which manifest themselves in everyday activities like hygiene, eating, playing and communicating. Each rider has a volunteer horse leader and a volunteer side walker assisting the therapist.
