In addition to the eleven (11) Forum events described above, City Club of Boise held three (3) signature events. Annual Pundits Forum, January. This event brings together business and community leaders, students, and legislators, and a panel familiar with the Idaho legislative process to discuss the upcoming legislative session. Up to 500 guests attend, including community leaders from all sectors and elected officials from all levels of government. The Marilyn Shuler Human Rights Forum honors the life and legacy of Marilyn Shuler, a leader in the advancement of education and human and civil rights in Idaho. She championed informed citizenship built on civil discourse. This event is planned by a team of high school and college students with the support of adult mentors. Through the event planning process, students gain leadership skills and share their voices in our community. The City Club Stimpson Award for Civic Engagement is named after our founders, Dottie and Ed Stimpson, who believed that no problem was so great that it couldn't be solved by people with open minds using civil discourse. The award celebrates the work of an individual or group of individuals who exemplify that conviction.
The organization held sixteen (16) Tours, After Hours, and Salons with over 1,360 members. These events provide an in-depth look at local history, companion community organizations, and notable meeting centers. These are also an opportunity for members to develop deeper friendships and understanding of others who might have diverse opinions.
