CITY YOUTH NOW IS A WELL-RESPECTED BAY AREA ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS TEENS, ESPECIALLY THOSE IN FOSTER CARE, WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM, OR ARE IN FINANCIAL NEED, IN A REGION THAT HAS BECOME EXTRAORDINARILY EXPENSIVE FOR MOST FAMILIES. THEY FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE - JOBS TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND THE PERSONAL EMPOWERMENTPROGRAM. THEY ARE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT WHILE KEEPING THEIR BUDGET UNDER $500,000 OFTEN BY PARTNERING WITH REGIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, OTHER NONPROFITS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS. UNLIKE MANY SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, MOST OF THEIR REVENUE IS CONTRIBUTED BY INDIVIDUALS AND SMALL FOUNDATIONS.
