Mission
Claires army strives to act as gods hands and feet for families fighting childhood cancer by supporting their daily responsibilities, allowing them to put time and focus on their child.
Programs
2 programs
Meal Program Delivery of FREE dinners to childhood cancer patients and their families who are receiving inpatient care at Novant Health: Hemby Childrens Hospital and Atrium Health: Levine Childrens Hospital. These meals are delivered 5 nights per week to: provide an alternative to hospital food; serve enough food for the entire family; and remove the financial and logistical burden of dinners during hospital stays. Claires Army partners with local restaurants and skilled volunteers to maintain and enhance this program for hundreds of families, annually.
Emergency Assistance We direct bill payments on behalf of patient families who are suffering financially due to cancer treatment. These include but are not limited to rent/mortgage, utilities, vehicle repairs, lodging assistance, funeral expenses, and grocery assistance. We receive and distribute these payments via referral from hospital providers who determine eligibility and need on a case-by-case basis for each family.
