Edict: celi launched the edict internship program in 2021. Edict is a business-workforce partnership that centers the voices and experiences of students from traditionally excluded groups in the clean energy ecosystem. Celi partnered with elemental excelerator and futuremap on the edict summer internship program, which placed undergraduates and recent graduates in summer jobs with host companies that have taken the edict pledge, a commitment to advancing inclusivity in the workplace and in the climate jobs ecosystem overall. Celi provides broad-exposure clean energy education to summer interns, focusing on the most foundational concepts in clean energy, including power markets, grid technology, policy, technology, start-ups and organizing/advocacy around energy justice. Metrics include: providing weekly energy education trainings through edict partnership to 72 interns who were placed at 50 host companies, across a 10-week summer internship program; 27 volunteers participated as guest speakers. Including 2024, the edict alumni body now stands at 250 strong.
Education and leadership development within the house ball community to participate in the democratic management of their energy resources: climate challenge: celi and michael roberson - theologian, public health practitioner, activist, artist, curator, cultural advisor and leader within the lgbtq and house ball community - work together to support the development of an energy education within the ballroom freedom school's civic participation curriculum. In 2024, celi supported michael roberson to lead energy education through weekend retreats for youth in the ballroom community, as well as over 20 presentations country at ballroom gatherings. Celi, mr, and tikkun olam productions filmed a micro documentary of mr's journey to a new understanding of climate solutions.
