We are one of 24 organizations participating in this national research effort through the wounded warrior service dog program to create a benchmark for training and placement of service dogs with military service members and veterans. The service dog program enhances the independence and well-being of veterans by pairing them with trained service dogs through the wounded warrior service dog program. In 2024, the program delivered 3,380 hours of specialized training to veterans and their service dogs, promoting emotional healing, functional independence, and improved quality of life. Additionally we placed 3 dogs that did not meet certification as emotional support dogs.
The integrated wellness division delivers a two-pronged approach: personalized assessments and referrals to supportive services, and the development of measurable wellness plans that include physical fitness and holistic health strategies. In 2024, the division provided equine therapy sessions to 65 veterans and facilitated more than 135 wellness classes focused on mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
We continue to grow and enhance our food pantry/empowerment center as the needs continue to increase. We are working more extensively with veteran and family homeless population as we gain continued recognition as a trusted service provider in the region. The culinary division strengthens veteran health and connection by providing nutritious meals and fostering community. Through our weekly canteen and breakfast programs, more than 200 veterans are served each week, promoting camaraderie and care. In 2024, the program sourced 10,560 pounds of fresh produce through its farmers market initiative, provided 588 holiday meals to veterans and their families, and raised $9,032 to support program sustainability through seasonal food truck events.
