The coalition for construction safety certification program sets specific criteria for construction contractor safety programs. Companies can attain one of the four levels based on the review and audit of their safety programs. The coalition for construction safety certification program aims to improve safety for all workers by providing feedback to participating contractors to help continuously improve jobsite safety so that workers return home to their friends and family each evening. The coalition for construction safety certification program database has over 800 companies who participate in the program. According to the indiana department of labor, the reduced number of construction jobsite incidents in the state can be directly related to the coalition for construction safety certification program and its emphasis on robust safety programs.
The coalition for construction safety substance abuse program aims to promote safety by eliminating the use of alcohol and drugs which can lead to unsafe working conditions for workers. As part of the coalition for construction safety substance abuse program, safesite is an online worker database where card managers can check and confirm that potential workers have passed drug tests so as to ensure safe working conditions on their jobsites. Safesite has over 200,000 construction and facilities maintenance workers in its database.
