Amazon Senior Home Stabilization Program: Many senior citizens in the District delay investing in home repairs that will save them money in the long run. Eventually, ignored repairs reduce the value of the home and end up costing a small fortune to address. Despite the long-term savings of investments such as weather stripping, dual pane windows, and insulation, which all reduce energy consumption and cost, senior homeowners often do not have the flexible income to support these repairs, and the fixes are postponed. The accumulation of these home maintenance costs overwhelms owners with fixed incomes, often forcing them to sell or transfer ownership.

DC Community Anchor Partnership: The Coalitions DC Community Anchor Partnership (DCAP) is a collaborative of local anchor institutions hospitals, universities, and utility companies harnessing their purchasing power to grow DC-based small- and medium-sized businesses. Led by The Coalition and co-convened with the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED), DCAP works with its Anchor Members. The hospitals and universities in the District of Columbia collectively spend more than $2B on goods and services every year, but a small percentage goes to locally owned DC businesses. This perpetuates the lack of diversity and competition in the Districts procurement ecosystem.ngineer institutional procurement systems to cultivate a more vibrant and competitive contracting ecosystem. DCAP Solution Increased procurement with DC-based small businesses, through DCAP, will create jobs, boost incomes, and generate wealth for District residents, supporting institutional corporate objectives and advancing inclusive prosperity in the District of Columbia.

CNHED:The Coalition is a dynamic 501(c)3 nonprofit that advances equitable community economic development solutions in the District of Columbia. Our holistic systems-change approach encompasses community-informed budget and policy advocacy, data-driven thought leadership, and needs-based programmatic initiatives in the areas of Housing and Homelessness, Workforce Development, and Small Business Ecosystem Building. Since its inception in 2000, The Coalition has grown from 55 organizations to nearly 180 today. The Coalitions strength is in its convening power, highly successful advocacy, robust communications, and information sharing, and equipping its members with tools and resources for their work. The Coalitions organizational members include nonprofit and for-profit affordable housing developers, housing counseling and service agencies, community economic development organizations, workforce and business development entities, lenders, intermediaries, and government agencies.

Landlord Partnership Fund:The District of Columbia is facing a severe shortage of affordable housing and a shortage of landlords willing to lease affordable units to households with histories of homelessness. Without more housing units accessible to these households, it will be extremely challenging for the District to match the households with available apartment units that meet their needsresulting in longer stays in shelter and fewer exits to permanent housing. Landlord partners across the District have answered the call to help end homelessness by providing available units and relaxing screening criteria to assist our neighbors experiencing homelessness secure a home of their own. Recognizing our landlord partners commitment to helping end homelessness, Mayor Bowser established the DC Landlord Partnership Fund to reimburse District landlords who rent to families or individuals who are exiting homelessness and have rental assistance through a Department of Human Services (DHS) and The Community Partnership (TCP) program. The Fund offers compensation for adverse rental costs associated with registered units. The Coordinated Assistance and Resources for Encampments pilot (CARE) and the Emergency Housing Voucher program (EHV) has also been added as qualifying programs under the LPF. The new initiative, one appropriated through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ACT), will allow landlords the same reimbursements for registered tenants. Since its initiation in January 2018, the LPF collected 3,884 registrants (3,732 online and 152 manual). As of November 1, 2021, LPF eligibility has expanded to include two additional programs: The Coordinated Assistance and Resources for Encampment Pilot (CARE) and the Emergency Housing Vouchers program (EHV). As of December 12, 2022, the LPF has: [1] Helped over 1,000 unique landlords and over 3,000 unique address units, [2] Acquired $402k total funds & [3] Paid 148 claims totaling $177,414.

Housing For All Campaign:The Coalition believes that an ample supply and array of solutions is needed to end chronic homelessness and to sustain a continuum of housing that meets the needs of the most economically vulnerable residents of the District. The Coalition supports Housing First, as well as other evidence-based models that demonstrate successful outcomes for their residents.Our campaign goal is to continue to increase the District governments investments in affordable housing, homeless prevention and workforce development, promoting racial and social justice throughout all District communities. We call on the Mayor and City Council to fully fund the Continuum of Housing, supportive programs and provide Housing for All.
