Mission

To care fot he lands and waters of the Damariscotta-Pemaquid Region by conserving special palces, protecting water quality, creating trails and public access, and deepening connections to nature.

Programs

2 programs

Operation and maintenance of two historic farm houses and surrounding land. These serve as nature centers, educational facilities, and administrative offices. In addition, these resources provide a community hub for the Damariscotta region, hosting a farmers' market and central meeting space for nature programs.

Education, outreach, and marine programs and materials, including the School for Field Naturalists and related programs. Connecting people and place is central to our mission. We are convinced that engaging youth and adults alike with the natural world in this exceptional region builds a stronger community of caring stewards dedicated to the integrity of the Damariscotta-Pemaquid Region.Programs include Midcoast Stewards, Oyster Gardening, Camp Mummichog, Mushroom Workshops, Edible Seaweed Courses, Wabanaki Living Skills and Culture and Health of the Damariscotta River. These are offered to benefit school-aged children, individuals, families, and municipal officials.
