Mission

Code/art is a non-profit organization on a mission to increase the number of girls in computer science by delighting and inspiring them with the creative possibilities of technology. We put young women, particularly those from underserved communities, on track for future tech careers by providing after-school stem educational programs that focus on art, creativity and social good, as well as training k-12 teachers to lead in- school code/art programs.

Weekly after school stem clubs, summer camps and stand-alone workshops for girls in grades 3-12. Served 705 girls.

In-person coding conference that included workshops, talks, stem expo, digital art exhibit, and an awards ceremony. The closing keynote and awards ceremony were also livestreamed. The event targeted girls, k-12 teachers and tech and arts enthusiasts. Total number of attendees: 445 in person and 315 virtually.

We held 6 coding competitions - 3 were open to girls in se florida (miami- dade, broward, palm beach and monroe counties) and 3 were national competitions open to any girl living in the us. Number of girls who took part in codeart competitions in 2024: 737 girls.
