Mission

We envision a future where young adults with diabetes are equipped and inspired to thrive. The diabetes link is the only national organization exclusively focused on the needs of 770k+ young adults with diabetes, providing peer support, connections, and resources so they don't have to navigate this stage alone.

Programs

2 programs

Peer communities and connections:in 2024, the diabetes link strengthened its peer community through college chapters and online platforms. By year-end, 760 young adults had joined our online community on discord (launched in 2022) and our college diabetes network reached nearly 150 campuses (up 20% from 2023). Incentives for chapter leaders drove engagement from more than 1,400 members, resulting in 90 recorded activities. Across all channels, our social media following surpassed 26,000.

Expenses: $494K

Professional development and advocacy opportunities:our nextgen fellowship and advocacy training continued to prepare young adults for leadership in diabetes care. In 2024, 16 nextgen fellows attended national diabetes conferences (ada and adces), engaged in peer mentoring, and connected with career advisors in the diabetes sector. To date, 249 fellows have completed the program. 40+ chapter leaders received training and support in the areas of advocacy, professional development, and community building with our 2024 summer socials.
