Mission

To organize and empower low to moderate income marylanders to achieve transformative change on issues of justice. Our grassroots organizing model prioritizes engagement and leadership development of those most impacted by poverty, racism, trauma and other injustice.

Programs

2 programs

Harm reduction, justice and equity: continued to organize people who are formerly incarcerated, who use drugs or are in recovery, and their families to lead change that improves their quality of life. Organized and educated communities about the failures of the drug war and promoted public health solutions that reduced the harm of crime and overdoses. Organized and educated for drug decriminalization and to cut bloated baltimores police budget - the highest per capita in the nation - to demand sustantive new investments in youth, schools, harm reduction and more.

Leadership development: build power among low to moderate income residents. Train and mentor its members and leaders, including sending delegations to national training and gatherings. Twice monthly community meetings went virtual in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic, but we continued to educate on state and local issues and immediate fights for democracy, justice and equity.
