The purpose of employment programs is to establish activities to prepare youth and adults facing serious barriers to employment for participation in the labor force by providing job training and other services that will result in increased employment and earnings, improving the quality of the workforce and enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of the nation.

Expenses: $4.7M

Energy programs - the home weatherization assistance program (hwap) offers income-qualified homeowners and renters the opportunity to lower residential utility costs by adding weatherization efficiencies. The program helps applicants understand energy audits and provides additional resources to help make cost-effective decisions. Heap offers heating bill assistance during the winter heating season. Whether an eligible household heats with electric, gas, firewood, coal, propane, fuel, oil, or kerosene, this program can help. The summer crisis program assists low-income households with residents who are age 60 and over and ohioans with a qualifying medical condition and people who are the most vulnerable to serious health problems resulting from summer's extreme temperatures. Those eligible for the program receive electric bill payment assistance.
