Programs
3 programs
The Family Development and Support Service Program provides various direct services to help eligible households stabilize and work towards self-sufficiency. These services include emergency shelter, rental help, transportation assistance, case management, life skills training, goal setting, and more.
The Circles initiative works to help families move out of generational poverty through training and matching them with highly trained community volunteers from the middle class. The participating families receive specialized training to help them overcome the barriers to escaping poverty. The initiative also identifies and works on systemic barriers that keep people in poverty. In 2024, 77 families were being mentored to reach 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Other Program Services 4: The Housing Counseling Program educates moderate and low-income families on home purchasing and assists in resolving mortgage issues. Homebuyer Education Classes were taught, and our agency conducted budgeting counseling sessions with various households. Other Program Services 5: The Food and More Corps, funded by AmeriCorps, seeks individuals who wish to serve their community by addressing food insecurity and financial literacy needs while gaining valuable service experience. Our mission is to provide opportunities for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to contribute their time and talent to strengthen communities.
